It is hard. I mess up. But being aware of that is the first step. And you're spot on that sometimes it feels impossible to "win." But if we don't try, then where are we? All we can do is be aware, try, improve as much as we can, and apologize and try to make it better when we do mess up.

I also have to say that I love the name of your blog! It's awesome, and it says all you need to say as far as telling people what your blog is about. And it's a great lead-in to posts.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2248771638146280147.post-24089550751926523162010-07-16T22:39:41.416-07:002010-07-16T22:39:41.416-07:00This reminds me of this:

But that is because tackling racism is some thing that takes constant effort and it is hard. I think the main thing is not to be discouraged or defensive if someone points out that some of your actions are racist (or ableist, sexist etc.) or perpetuate racism but keep trying to live a little better anyway.
The other thing is that our culture is totally structured and dependent on these racist (sexist, ableist, classist etc.) frameworks and it is really hard to push against them. But we should still try.
What a ramble!margothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14703045873226052781noreply@blogger.com
